Want a Sub, will this work?

Hi Guys,

My ICE setup at present consists of Illusion 6.1 components in front and Illusion 6.2 co-axials in rear. These are now driven by a JBL GT5-A604 Amplifier.
I now feel like having a sub woofer and want to go for Polk MM 2104 which is a 10" sub. This because I feel it has good reviews and being 10" sub will take up less space in my Palio and I don't need too much bass.

Now my questions are-
1. Can I use the existing Amp to drive this sub as well? Because this sub is rated 300w rms and is 4ohms, whereas if I drive this in bridged mode from my Amp it will be supplying just 120w which is very low.

2. If I need a new Amp, will a JBL GT5 A3001 do the job well?

3. The recommended enclosure for this sub?

PS: How does the GZRW 10XS-AL compare against this Polk?

Its 160W x 2 at 4 ohms. Should work but better try it before buying if possible.

SRShrikant had some sort of channel seperator installed in his car.
Check out the description of the same in his garage.

Check the Owner's manual on jbl site. http://manuals.harman.com/JBL/CAR/Ow...4OM19Mar08.pdf

It says 160W

You can use if you have a tight budet and you also dont like too much BASS

Monoblock for an sub is better

Polk momo series 10inch is better and I guess a sealed box is better [FONT=Univers-CondensedLight][SIZE=1]
