I think a pair of CS1204 12" Subs will do for you, put them into a sealed Box .

speakers I'd say u can stick to Boston S series, or JBL 2008 GTO series.

No particular reason as such for 2 subs, its just I want some good bass. be free to comment if any of my decision is senseless as I don't have much idea.:)

"Components" are a set of 2 mid range speakers (Giving out the mid freq sound) , 2 tweeters (Give out high frequency sound) and 2 crossovers (That comes between the connection of speaker from the source, their function is to split the sound freq to high frequency and mid frequency and send the mid frequency to mid range speakers and high frequency to tweeters, thus giving you a better clearer sound) All of these comes in a single box by many brands like illusion, JBL etc.


If the size of these 3 way pioneers are within 6-6.5" (Diameter), then you can fit them in the rear door in the company provided slots. You dont need the rear tray.

thanks srikant.. now its preety much clear... One more thing.. in this kind of circuit, i think i;ll have to put the tweeters in the door wall instead of dash near front windscreen..

Pioneer are oval shaped.. have to check if it can fit in door..

also, as redfire mentioned, a dedicated amp for the sub.. can this be a 2 channel amp or it has to be a 4 channel? and would it be better if i change the sub's box to a tube?

also.. if possible, can you pls tell me how much would mid range speakers and crossover ckt cost?

Yes pal, thats the one. Thats the old GTO 607C series form JBL. The tweeters can be placed even on the front windscreen, but it is placed on door wall do get the complete effect. It does not damage your door wall. It can be a neat job by most of the installers.


Oval pioneers cannot be placed on doors. You can leave it in the boot with those present enclosures if you can manage for that space occupied. But if you want more boot space, You better get yourself a new tray to place the pioneer ovals.

You can go for a Mono Amp for driving the sub indivudually. But good mono amps come in the price range of 10000 upwards. IF you want a cheaper option you can have a 2 channel amplifier connected to the sub in bridged mode. (2 channel amps come at a price range of 5000 upwards.

No need to do any changes on the sub box, you can retain the same.

You can go for the new JBL GTO 608C which costs around 5500 (all in a box).

Dampening of door is necessary to get the complete aound quality if you listen at high volumes. If your budget permits you can go for front door damping too.

Let me tell you again, these are my personal opinion from my little knowledge (thanks to TBHP). Gurus may have better suggestions. What say gurus? hope i am not wrong anywhere?

Guys, Does anyone have any idea about the blakpunt palm beach series with 10 CD changer? Does this model support USB Interface?

I'd suggest using similar sounding speakers in the front and back. but the illusions in isolation are fine speakers.

I'd say replace the bass tube anyway. a good installer should be able to make a great enclosure ( while the average installed will just get a standard box and plonk a sub into it)

I'd suggest a single sub high quality sub rather than two cheaper ones

Any suggestion on the Sub at a budget of Rs.10-12k, The installation to take place in Ranchi, So i don't have a option here of a good installer who could make a great enclosure..:Frustrati Options would be DIY with the help of some gurus here or any other suggestion there from you..

Don't underestimate the resources that you have in Ranchi, a good carpenter will do if you have the dimensions and and a clear idea what is to be made.

If you don't get MDF in Ranchi, planks of any dense wood will do. As will good treated ply bonded to fiber-glass sheets with araldite. Explain what you want by showing the carpenter pictures and drawings, and explain to them the need for good bracing and sealing.

have you decided which route you're going ? sealed or ported?

since you have a monobloc , I'd suggest going sealed . You may get lower output , but hey, its just a hatch, and if you're not planning to use it for the neighbours benefit, it should be fine.

Also, the sound of a sealed box sub is less dependent on box design than a ported one.
