Pioneer 5050ub random feature not working

The title says enough in this case, though i'll elaborate to make my question easier to understand. When i connect my ipod to the pioneer 5050ub and select random it shuffles the music, I've tried it on an mp3 disc, which i burn myself & when i click random, nothing happens, it just keeps playing tracks in order. The same disc on my sony in the other car works well with the random function.
The cd has three folders + other songs(no folder)

In pioneer hu's, a random song will be played only if it finishes playing the current track. If u manually change the song, it'll play only the next track in the order. Search around the forum, there are enough threads which discuss this.

checked the thread out & googled as well. Nothing, i still can't believe this is happening. Going to get it changed to a kenwood or something. Worth it na? or will sound quality really deteriorate.
