Yes sir. Sorry for the blunder at my end. RMS of amplifier is to be considered and not the speakers/subwoofers.

V = sq root of (700 x 2) = 37.41V.

Lol no wonder I found the bass to be a little less. When setting gain should the rca cables be unplugged alomg with the speaker wires or can the speaker wires be connected?

It'll be good if the speaker wires are disconnected when setting the gains and crossovers set to full.

Find where the HU clips first (so you never cross that volume level), then set gains on the amplifier.

How do I find the clipping point of the hu?

Do you have access to an oscilloscope?

My friend tried but they weren't accurate enough hence was returned. I have one on the way from the USA, will see how good that is.

You have a PM from me.

Re: Gain settings simplified!

Hi Guys,
I recently upgraded my music system and I have added below components with factory stereo.

1. Mosconi Gladen PICO 8|10 DSP - Eight Channel DSP Amplifier (Rated: 50W x 4channels + 80W x 4channels at 4 ohms)
2. Gladen Zero 165 - 6.5inch 2way Component Speaker Set for front and rear (Rated: Mid Range: 2 x 100W at 3 Ohms, Tweeters: 2 x 50W at 4 Ohms)
3. Sundown SFB-1000D Mono Amplifier (1 ohm RMS=1000W, 2 ohm RMS=850W, 4 ohm RMS=500W)
4. Sundown Ev3 12″ D2 subwoofer (500W RMS at 4 Ohms)

The above system is running fully active with all components customizable via Mosconi Gladen GUI interface. I need help in understanding the GUI if anyone here is using the same amplifier or maybe help in understanding the frequency range and slope to be set.

Attaching few pictures of GUI interface for reference.

Thanks

Here you go - refer to this video:

It's very difficult to walk you through based on GUI pic. Even though most of the options would be similar among these DSPs [I play around with Dayton DSP 408] it'll definitely take some time getting used to. Also if this is the first time, I would suggest read up on different parameters of DSP settings in general like frequency/phase/slope etc.

PS: Congrats on the system! Those are some cool stuff in there.

Re: Gain settings simplified!

The links in the OP's post aren't working.

Kicker Audio has everything here.

Re: Gain settings simplified!

I'm using a JBL stage a9004 90.4 amp. It says class d on the internet.
when trying to set the gains using method in post #1 of this thread, my voltage reading isn't going higher than 15v when according to the calculation I need close to 19v. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Gain settings simplified!

Will this rule apply to 4ch amps with 2 gain screws?

Which hu are you using and how much did you set the volume at?

Yep,
You just have to do each one individually.
First, the front and then the back/SUB.

I was using the Pioneer AVH-X7850BT. I still have the Amplifier but the car has since been sold.

But how will you calculate the voltage? My amp is rated at 60w rms for each channel.
