Swift ICE'd

I Got my Swift ICE'd at DRIVEN

Setup details:

With Bill
HU: Kenwood 6539 - 9.5
Amp: Blau Special MK II - 6k
Power Kit + RCA: Bull - 4.3k
Sub: Bull SW-12 - 4.6k

Without Bill:
Components: JBL GTO608C - 4.5k
Sub box: DRIVEN custom made - 1.5k
Kicker cables - 8m+ (Don't remember cost)
Damping: Dynamat Extreme for 2 front doors - 3.6k

Total: 35.5k

I went there in the afternoon and found Subhan (SAM_786) hanging around, working on his ICE setup. It was very kind of him to QA my setup (Thanks buddy!)

HU: Last weekend I had auditioned Kenwood 6539 in Gunbir's car and was pleased with it, so went ahead with it.

Components: I auditioned both JBL GTO608c and Bull's competing components and found JBL better suited to my taste.

Amp: Didn't have much choice in the 6k range. Rana@DRIVEN and Pramod@DRIVEN (install guy) both vouched for Blau MK II. After install I found that it had enough juice to power all elements and its aluminium cover and fins had good enough heat dissipation abilities. So am satisfied with the choice. Though it tends to get a bit warm after 15 minutes, but seems to stay in that range. I tested it for 3-4 hours at a stretch and it stayed in the warm temperature zone and though I haven't tested it for much longer duration, I guess I can extrapolate that it shouldn't cause any problem.

Sub: DRIVEN didn't have JBL 12" in stock, so they sent out the cavalary to scout for it. In the meatime my components were ready so I auditioned Bull's SW-12. It fit very well with front components with nice bass characteristics. Subhan also seconded my opinion and so I didn't even try to wait for JBLs and went with Bulls.

Here are some pics that I took with my crappy cellphone camera, so please excuse the quality:

I'm please with the install and especially with DRIVEN and would recommend it due to several reasons:

- I found DRIVEN to be customer focussed and they give special attention to T-BHP folks.
- DRIVEN's installers (Pramod and Mukesh) seem to have done several setups with different permutations and combinations and they did a very clean install in my case.
- DRIVEN's pricing is also very competitive and seems like they give discount to all T-BHP folks.

I hope their after sales support turns out to be equally good.

Congratulations, buddy.
You've done the right thing. You listened to what you want to buy and decided according to your tastes. Well done.
Good choice of equipment.
JBL 608 is liked by many and presents a live, on your face music. Very much a perfect choice for people who like new age, trance, rock, electronic and pop music. It's a worthy competitor in our Indian music conditions too.
Bull sub is great VFM. Compliments well with the rest your setup. Nice choice of amp too.
Enjoy and boom responsibly.

Hey! before It's too late (a year too late, I mean), welcome to Team-bhp.

And yes Mr.Rana and the installers do give special attention to Tbhp members.

Thanks everyone. Setup is as inspiring as I could have imagined for this budget.

No I didn't. I did audition different components but not sub. After listening to the "moo species", I knew this is what I need ;-)

Its under the kick panel, I believe. I was awestruck listening to Subhan's 3L+ setup while crossovers were being installed. Unfortunately couldn't get it pic'ed.

Sorry about that. I'll put more pics later.

Great install GS! I too got the same Blaupunkt Amp installed yesterday. I was a bit reluctant if it will be adequate to power up the iD components. Initially we thought to bridge the components to Blaupunkt amp but when we listen to the setup without bridging it was sounding damn good (as not expected). Great VFM amp at present in the market. Didn't notice the heat issue for now, but will observe and share the experience.
