Pioneer AVH-P3150

Anybody got any idea if P3150 (P3100 in US) is available in India (esp in Delhi)? If yes, then what is the price?

Yes its on the website. But the site is just horrible to say the least. There are very few details on that.

Also how good are Pioneer products.

any reason why the pioneer website tailored for india is so bad? why do so many companies that have a perfectly functional site for all countries do such a childish job on indian sites. its not the first time i have seen this. how good a website is, and how intuitive and informative is, speaks of how serious a company is, for its operations in india. we can see from their website and their absurd pricing that they are not interested in the HUGE market India is, considering 50%+ of all grey market head units are pioneer
sorry about the rambling, i just cant stop when i am annoyed.
the reason why i am annoyed is that i wanted to see the larger image of this head unit on the indian website. in usual style of our country the window said larger image not available as of now. man, how do they expect us to buy products without having a specifications table for each product too?

video playback only while parked???

hello, I intend to purchase the same model from US / India. Looks like VFM at 300 USD.

2 things that are not clear to me..

1. some sites that review say that the DVD / Video playback feature doesnt get enabled unless the device is connected to parking brake. I have an alto and I am not sure if there is any electrical / electronic lead that can signal this device that the parking brake is on or vice versa, that the device can recognise parking brakes are on. Is there any way to circumvent this feature?

2. Suppose I play a DVD, can I connect another in car display and view the video on that device? Would this be possible while the car is in motion?, i.e the device doesnt need to care if the car is parked or moving.. (based on my previous question).

thanks

Just check whether the HU supports Europe setting on FM.

The difference between an HU meant for US and one meant for India / Europe is that the US one can only tune to odd FM frequencies, and the others can tune to odd *and* even FM frequencies.

Thanks DerAlte,

Is there any difference in the HU Size as compared to India one?
In India it is priced at 43,000/- with Bill & warranty. The Difference is roughly 26,920/-

No, 2DIN size is the same everywhere.

Don't be surprised at the price difference.
* One cannot / should not take the US$ price and multiply with the current exchange rate to compute an INR price!
* India pricing is based on average exchange rate and customs duty
* Prices on an average are much less in US than anywhere else, even Singapore
* When you buy in India with bill and warranty, you are covered (warranty cost is included in price - nothing comes for free in life) during the warranty period. When bought from US, warranty is not valid in India. Of course, this only does not explain the 80% price difference - it is the other factors as above
