Kenwood Excelon KAC-X4R and Infinity Components

All,

I am planning to get this amp, mainly because it looks good on paper.

I think Kenwood Excelon is similar to Pioneer Premier. I could not get a listen of this amp.

Does anyone here have experience with these and would like to warn/encourage before I go buy this?

I am planning to pair these with:

Infinity Kappa/Perfect (Are the Kappa series brighter than the reference series?)

or

JL Audio XR650 components (these are costly but sound lovely)

Went through the specs, DSP looks very interesting - guess you could use it to run an active 2-way front stage without additionally investing in a high-end HU or outboard processing...if you wanted to. Seems to be conceptually similar to the Zapco DC Reference series...

Dunno about the sound - there's a lot of debate on SQ of class-D vs class-AB, especially for fullrange applications...haven't A/Bed the two personally so can't comment.

Yes, they have just been launched. X4R is 21K and X1R is 26K.

Thanks Gunbir. Would you be able to comment on the quality of those amps? Good enough for mid-range speakers such as Infinity Kappa/Focal Access ?

It is available here for $220, which sounds like a nice deal..
