Team-BHP - Which Speakers for Sub like effect?

Gurus,

which are speaker available in market which can give subwoofer like effect. i have a kenwood system in my magnum with 4 speakers. i would like add 2 more speaker in the rear tray whcih would give me more heavy bass effect. i heard about some speaker in blaupunkt, pioneer and JBL which require dedicated AMP as well. please suggest.

Also what is the difference between coax and component speakers?

I have 2 Pioneer ovals (3-way) speakers mounted in a wooden enclosure (not a big box as boot space is retained for a small travel bag) and placed in the boot of my M800. Dunno if its close to a sub, but sounds bassy enough.

Not sure of the model number wither as its over 6 yrs old and my memory fails me.

I know the woofers for this was pretty big but as a whole speaker was more of treble oriented.But the speaker did look good.

Any competent brand of oval speakers on the rear shelf will give you a decent amount of thump if amplified. But the question is, how much thump do you actually require. The rear speakers (ovals/coaxials) would be a decent investment if you don't plan to add a subwoofer.
If you give us a budget to work on, it would be great. On a minimal budget i'd suggest a good set of components in front. And a subwoofer. Both would be amplified by a 4 channel amp. You would not need a set of rear speakers if you do this. Now, according to the budget we shall suggest brands and models:-) cheers

I have very limited budget, and i wish to upgrade / replace stock kenwood system, however i am quite happy with kenwood speaker in front and rear door, so was looking for speakers in rear tray which would add more bass effect. I am now sure how many RCA pre-outs are there in current HU so not sure if may have to replace the HU. i can start with 12k budget. eventually i would add the sub as well if I feel the need

there are no 608 ovals. the 608c's are actually 6" components. he probably had the 938 in mind :) . A pair of 6x9's and a parcel tray should cost ~5k. If you want a HU with maximum drive, save up a bit more for a new alpine HU/buy a second hand one. They really can play loud!

I would go for what frankmehta is suggesting. Since i was too looking for similar setup/requirements of yours for my i10. Hence i installed Focal components, rear co-ax with a 4ch amp. I will be adding a budget sub sooner or later for the desired effect.
Pioneer 2150 is easily available at 6.5k grey. But spending this amount on sub is way better than on 2150. Extra expenditure would be an amp.

The JBL GTO 937 provides an effect close to what you want. I have them in my fiesta, and i really don't feel the need for a sub. I guess they've been replaced by the GTO 938 now.

pio ovals are vest avoided. They sound terrible and a looot of fakes are floating around in the market.
