Saved 10L via an ICE upgrade

I had been planning a car upgrade for sometime now, backed off just before biting the proverbial bullet (or signing the dotted line) , decided to give the cheap way and give myself a sasta audio upgrade to keep myself content for at least another year or two

In addition, there was a lot of weird fluttering coming from the rears, so spent a good part of Saturday at GP Road getting my speakers changed

Fronts: Boston S60 components
Rears: JBL GTO938

Thanks to Gmano, Rahul and Bottle for their excellent advice

Will post pics of the old speakers in the evening. It's hard to believe they made any sound at all given the state they were in

Were you planning a car for just a better ICE? LOL

10 Lac is good amount of money!

But Beware! Dont get bitten by the ICE Bug. The ICE section can make you spent the money you saved in no time (without a new car). . Just Kidding.

Good choice and Enjoy the set up.

Congrats.

Actually, I don't even need an HU (reremebr the 'puter? )
I'll get an amp on the day I gather the courage to spend another full day at GP road

Beyond the basic point A to B utility, it's the new toy value that persuades us to get a new car (unless the old car has become cranky/troublesome/whatever)
The new ICE gives me an enhanced old tyoy which will keep the new toy thoughts out for a while

heh, got it mixed up with the swift.

PS: see if you can set up some time alignment in your carputer

Audio Tuning via Software - MP3Car.com Wiki

PS: a lot more goodies in there for which you'd need a $$$ HU for otherwise

The swift actually has a decent audio setup for now with the Infinity Reference Rears and fronts

As for this, I suspect, The 2 ohm GTO938 is draining the life out of the HU and now I'll need an Amp...Damn

What are you running the oval in ? rear tray /sealed/ported boxes?

a sealed box might reduce the output of the ovals
PS: pix still pending!

it's mounted on the same rear tray that came with the car...

BTW what amp would you think is a good choice?

As for the pics, didn't take any at the time of install, so at best, I can puit rear pics now, which is kinda pointless
