ICE for A-Star LXI?

Want a decent ICE for an A-Star that i booked yesterday!
Music- Everything from Aerosmith to Jagjit Singh
Budget-15-16k (max)
HU - Sony CDX-GT484US - Like this one with all the basic features and red

LCD display (will match with A-Star's internal red displays) quoted at 8090/- with bill & waranty.
What speakers to go for in the rest of the budget. I don't want a plank at the back & want speakers at stock locations (4 door). Help me please!

There are always better souding options than the Sony HU in the Market in the same proce bracket. Try to listen to different setups before you decide.
Just dont go behind the looks.

You can go for basic component setup in the fronts and a 6" Coax setup for the rear.
Try brands like JBL, Hertz, Bull Etc.

Plenty of better HU options below 8k. Look at Pioneer, JVC and Kenwood for example. If you're willing to buy without B&W, the options increase even more.

Say you pick up a good HU at 7k, it leaves 9k in a 16k budget.
I don't know how big the stock speaker locations are in the A Star, but go for good coaxial speakers for the rear (2-3k) and component speakers for the front (6-7k). Just about within budget.

Components sound best when powered off an amplifier. The HU amp is underpowered and you won't get the best out of your components at this point of time. But, this is keeping the future in mind. Down the line, when you can afford an upgrade, get yourself an amplifier, good wiring and damping (maybe even a sub if you need more bass).
If you buy front coaxials now, they'll go to waste when you want to upgrade to something better (read: components).

Browse around the ICE section for speaker options. Lots of brands out there - JBL, Illusion Audio, Bull, Polk, Alpine etc. Buy whichever sounds best to you.

Scrap the Sony HU. My suggestion would be as follows -
1) HU - Kenwood 5039/5539 - 5k (without B&W)
2) Front Speaker - 6.5" Bull/Illusion/Hertz Components - 6k
3) Rear Speakers - Blaupunkt/JBL 6" Co-oaxial speakers - 1-1.5k
4) Kenwood/Blaupunkt/JBL 4 channel Amp for 5-6k ( You may add it later though)
5) Decent wiring - 1-1.5k
6) Front Door Damping, if budget permits - 2k

Total will come out to 15k (without Amp) and 20-21k with Amp.

First finalize the equipments you wish to go for and then contact the fellow member who is dealing in that product. They will definitely courier you the required equipments.
My city too does'nt have most of these products but since delhi is just 3hrs drive away, sourced them from there. I won't be of much help in this regard.

What size speakers would fit in the A-Star's stock speaker locations in the door?

Will a 6" or 6.5" speaker fit the stock location?

No, they do not fit.. i tried fitting them in the door but couldn't.
In the end i habe fiited JBL GT5-S396 speakers on a parcel shelf in the rear, while retaining the A-stars stock speakers up front.
Nothing great, Bass is low :(

6.5" speakers would sit in the door without any issues. No cutting required.
