which Car HU from US for about $200

Hey guys,

As somebody is coming back from US and the person can bring me anything small which i need. I am wondering why not a HU as i am picking up a new car(Swift VDi). So which one should it be. I am looking for something which has a AUX and USB in. Not really a fan of double din HU but if something is good and VFM why not. Will need something for which a Steering remote control is easily available. Is it wise to get one from US. I am making a strict budget of $200 or so. Don't wanna spend anything above Rs10K for something real slick.

Preferred Brand Choices:
Pioneer
Clarion
Alpine

Let me know.

200$
Seems a decent enough budget.

Try to look at some Eclipse Models too.
CD3200 is around 240 on sonic electronix - but out of stock
The Clarion 785 seems the best bet right now.
140 $ + Shipping on Sonic and 160$ on amazon.

I got the Clarion 785 from Sonic a few days back. Best bang for the buck HU available at this point of time. Period. Has pretty much all the important features, including Time Alignment.

I would suggest the Alpine CDA 9884 (CD/iPOD) or the iDA-X300 if you want something different without the CD option.

You can get the alpine 9886 actually for a shade over that budget.

Good website for Car Audio in the US

Well, I am not an expert and cannot recommend a model. However, when I was in the US I used to buy HU's for my friend's in India. I used to get very good deals(Less than $50 for Pioneer/JVC's HU's) and most of my friends were happy.

I used to buy them from crutchfield.com and they are rated as one the best websites in US for car audio and accessories. You might want to go through the various models on their website and also read their expert reviews.

Mod: I do not work for crutchfield, if you find this posting inapprpriate, pls have it deleted.

All roads lead to the Clarion DXZ785USB:-) it's got it all. The rest of the units in and around this price range pale in its comparison.
Ps: Mods, by the amount of propaganda i'm doing for the clarion, i look like i work for Clarion:-) please don.t delete. Lol. I get paid in gold every time a head unit from clarion is sold.
