Swift VDi factory HU replacement......

Hi, i recently bought a swift VDi and it has a factory HU built into the dashboard console. Now i want to replace the factory HU with a Kenwood 1 din receiver. Is it possible to replace the dashboard console which houses the audio controls ? it does not have a standard 2 din or 1 din receiver space. I realize that the entire console would need to be replaced for a new one which has a 1 din receiver bracket. I also need to replace the rear 6" speakers with coaxials. The rear parcel tray sits on a metal frame that has space for 6" speakers. Would it be possible to install coaxials in the rear parcel tray?..........Gurus please help.........

vikrant fountainheader has done the same on his swift. dashboard fascia is available in the market. go and hunt some nice accessory shops and maybe MASS also.

You can get it at most ICE Shops.
Also for the rears, i think the space is not at the parcel tray but the rear door.

My friend got his OEM HU of SX4 replaced with a JVC double din.. you can get the assembly from Maruti also.

OT: Has swift VDi started coming with built in HU or is he talking about Dzire?

I think it's Swift Dzire Vdi he is referring to.

Sorry, my knowledge is poor in some aspects......i didn't understand MASS.......what does it mean ?.......Also, if possible please let me know where i can get a dashboard facia in Delhi. I live in Pitampura near Rohini.

Alternatively for the dashboard fascia contact GYRO at Moti Bagh. They got a similar one for my Corolla, at the best price and were extremely professional in installing my aftermarket Head Unit...

Check for the prices at 2-3 dealers, as they vary.
