SQ sub with Eclipse XA1000

Folks,

Finally I'm getting to the last stage of my Swift's ICE upgrade: the mono amp and sub. Have already decided on the Eclipse XA1000 as I'm getting a brilliant deal on one. Now wondering which sub to put with it. My current install is: Eclipse CD3100, JBL 1004, Illusion 6.1 Electra, JBL GTO937. I mainly listen to rock (full spectrum from Simon & Garfunkel to moderately heavy metal like Iron Maiden) along with some bits and bobs of instrumental, pop etc. I'm looking for an SQ sub (no boom boom), preferably a 10". If there is an under-seat option, that would be ideal. My budget for the Sub + enclosure + wiring + install is 10-12k. The amp is outside this. Suggestions on which sub would be much appreciated.

Many thanks,
Jaibir

Ground Zero 30T is a good option for you.
rated 400w rms and is a 4 ohm SVC.
8k
Plus you should have the enclosure and wiring for around 4-5k. And you'll be good to go.

You may like to check JL. You can try JL 10W1V2-4. Your amp will have more power than this sub will ever need. If you are okay to stretch your budget, you cal try W3 as well. But W1v2 is the slimmer of two and may fit in most compact installations (as mentioned by you).

Note: Although I have heard W3, but I haven't heard W1. I am suggesting purely from my W3 experience, the brand value, and reviews from Crutchfield.

Congrats on the great Eclipse Mono Amp. I think you should audition the ID CTX 12" sub. It will be perfectly under your budget + will satisfy your requirements. Pure SQ it is on the Eclipse XA 1000. I just auditioned it on my setup yesterday.
Contact the ID dealer/distributor to find out if it's available in 10". I am afraid it is not.

Thanks Abbinav. Considered that but would really prefer a 10 incher if possible

I am sure iDCTX is available in 10". Not sure of the price though. From what i have heard IDQ and iDCTX are different subs. Are you buying sub from US ?

The IDQ10 is available for ~10.5k in Mumbai. Wouldnt that be a better buy than a CTX at 7.8k? I wouldnt mind extending the budget if its a substantially better sub. If the differences are small, will stick with the cheaper option.

Abhi i think it is V2 version, Yes go for it and that's a good deal you are getting there (this model use to retails @ $160 in the US) . Is it with B&W.

It is the V2 version. I'll have to check on the B&W - I think its with warranty but not sure

Audition a few subs before buying. You might end up with something else.

That's too tempting price for an IDQ sub. Go for it if you like it. I find CTX more to my liking/taste than IDQ though. But that's me. Audition both and then decide.
