ICE for i10~

Hi:

Please advise on ICE for 10k budget. Planning to get HU and front and rear speakers from UK. Would be interested in Pioneer and JBL brands around that budget. It could be compos for the front or without them. The new i10 is my parent's car, so no amp for the compos, just the HU has to drive the compos or any speaker for that matter.

Please advise on the speakers' size and models, and the availability in UK. Thanx.

You will perhaps get a better deal in Chennai itself, instead of UK. Please remember Rupee is at a low, so effective UK price will be higher. Also, buying in UK is all about looking high and low for a good Bargain Sale. High Street prices are really steep, and one has the added problem of warranty not being valid outside UK.

As I know UK is not a good market for shopping electronic items. Try in Chennai itself

Yes DA is absolutely spot on. Better off buying a HU in chennai for more reasons than one.

Kenwood 5039/5539 : 5K grey
JBL 608C comps : 4K grey
Wiring : 1K

If your parents will be driven around, install the comps in the stock locations of the rear doors; otherwise install them in the front.

You won't need to spend extra on wiring - use the existing harness in the car. Also, the shop you buy it from will gladly install it. Tip the installer if he does a neat job and cleans up after installation.

Yo Nitrous-anna, Esteem_lover, where are you? A fellow Chennai member needs help.

Not sure if that UK model is available in India under that model number. Best would be to go to the market and check for basic models ~4K. There will be a few Pio, Panasonic, Kenwood, Clarion and Sony models.

Speaker models are OK. Have you checked prices? You should be able to get both for ~6K.

I have decided on these...

Pioneer DEH-110E

Ground Zero Radioactive GZRF52X 2 Way 100 Watt 5" Coax Speakers £24.95 Discount Car Audio UK: DVB Car Audio UK Online Entertainment Store

JBL GTO507C 165W 13cm Component Speakers - GTO507C from JBL

Are they okay, will they fit inside the doors, and is the HU enough to power them for good SQ ? Please advise.

Consider the options above. Alpine's speakers are the SPS 17C
