You ever thought of using a FM transmitter? These are casettes so quality should not be such a big constraint.

I use a FM transmiter for my VDC/DVD player and it is ok. but in this case the FM transmistter is about 2" from the HU.

Simple.. You can consider a FM reciever to be a miniature FM station. Tune the station of the transmitter in your radio and enjoy!

Try Belkin. I guess Navin has sampled one. Shops selling Ipods might have them.

Up until this morning my knowledge on car audio, for that matter any audio, was zilch. I spent some parts of the afternoon and most parts of the evening on this one thread. After all that time I thought I had cracked it. However, I realize with delving deeper I more confused now.

Hence, my request to all the Gurus to help me with my selection:-

Car: Hyundai Accent

My music is soft (mostly). The music I hear is western classical and spiritual. Low notes are very important.

Would HU & amp from Sony - 5510 & 504 do? Rear - GTO 936 or 636? Front ???

Aesthetics is important to me. I am not flashy do not like loud colours.

Budget 25K...

SOS..

SOS..

Do you want a sub. you can just about afford one at this budget.

However I'd look at the folllow:

HU: Blaupunkt at 8K
Amp: Pio 6100 at 7.5K
Front: 5" or 6" components (if the Accent has tweeter pods): 5k
Rear: 6x9 JBL936, Infinity or Alpine 690A: 4-5K
Install and wires: 2K
-------------------
26.5-27.5K

if you want to stick to under 25K....
Front: 5" coax for 3.5-4K JBL 536
Rear 6x9 JBL 936 at 4K.
------------------------
25-25.5K.

i saw alpine amps, they are available for
4channel = 3000Rs
2channel = 1500Rs
THEY ARE NOT ORIGNAL, but are easily available in delhi

does any one have an aprox idea of their power rating.

Like you said..."THEY ARE NOT ORIGINAL". I guess their power ratings if advertised would be very ogininal (read as creative) too. Dont waste your time.

How about having two pairs of 6X9 speakers and a sub at the rear in a box or a MDF tray..... I know the sound will all be at the back...but what about sound quality..?
As there is less space for 6X9 in front to be mounted is this a better option...

ps: my car is a zen

Why? If you want SPL get a pair of 15" subs and a 300W/ch stereo sub and you'll have all the bass you need. pair that to a pair of compression drivers and horns and you can part your hair!

If you are looking for SQ stick to having speakers like behave as close to point soruces as possible.
