You could use it on a MDF tray as well. It is a lot cheaper. If it dont suit your taste you can use th MDF to make the box.

Ahahahahahahhahahahhaa gunman, thats really funny.

I JBLfied a Palio last week :D

This guy is a Tbhpian but aint so active in here. He went in for GTO series for frnt and (6x9 on the shelf) back. His units are powered by a 3XXX series Pio ( yah yah grey market one). He should be going for a MDF tray for the rear speakers soon.

On Sam's behalf:

God bless you my child. :-) LOL

You know, I've seen a lot of people here get different brands of speakers for the front and rear. Personally i dont like that.
It doesnt matter what brand HU, what amp or even subwoofer, but whe it comes to front and rear speakers, i always prefer to have them from the same brand.
Sometimes even the same series if possible. This gives you an even soundstage and balance around the car. It's not good if you have a totally different kind of sound coming from the rear and a different one from the front.
Doesnt mean it doesnt work. If you KNOW what you're doing, a mix-match can actually work for you. But i think if you arent spot on sure, and you like an even soundstage, stick to the same brand front and rear speakers. Even if it s 6X9 for the rear and components for the front.

Sam, then you gotta see what a friend of mine has done. He has 2 6x9 in the rear a Sony Xplod and a Pioneer something. Not 2 pairs. 1 of each! :-) He has done this to both his cars (Accents).

Says he gets the best of both worlds. Dont know how it sounds and I dont think I care to find out. I dont know what he has in front as I did not ask.

Ask him what happens to the bass of the Pioneer and the treble of the JBL?

BTW when I walk down a road I often see 4 x 6x9 in the rear deck. Santro's, Wagon R's, Accent's, any car with a rear deck wide enough to accomodate 4 6x9s. Even heard a car with 4 6x9s and 2 TS20 in the rear. Thankfully I was not in the car.

10K is tight...

Figure on spending 5K for the HU and 6K on speakers.

There is a Blaupunkt HU I heard retails for 4.5K and I wont be surpsied in Pioneer and Sony also have models in this price range.

I would consider speakers from Blaupunkt, JBL, or similar brands.

Hey Sam,
Wat wud be the perfect setup for a Swift and within a budget of 20,000 Rs.

Hello Sasi. Welcome.

At 20,000/- I would suggest a nice HU (You can get a nice alpine for about 8k, you dont have to buy alpine, i like alpine, you could buy pioneer, sony etc)
For the front end, buy a nice set of 6" component speakers. For the rear buy a 6" coaxial for the door. That will put you back by about 8-9k.
At this point you could blow up the extra money by taking your wife/girlfriend for a nice weekend getaway OR you could increase your budget and put an amplifier and a woofer. It all depends on your preferences and your definition of pleasure.
