Vivek, I notice that nowadays, you are only posting at hours regarded unearthly for our part of the world :p
Anyway, Pioneer amps are damn good value for money, but by spending a little more, one can get JBL with after sales support.
A little birdy told me that JBL amp prices are set to change, so can't say whether they increase or decrease, so I guess everyone should pick up their amps rightaway, because I'm betting on 'increase'. They're so reasonably priced anyway, if they lower it further it'll be like stealing from Sam!
I return from work late and that is when I log on to team-bhp. i would love to come earlier but what to do?
Guys,
How good is the Pioneer D510 Monoblock amp?
Its a very good value for money. Very hard to beat with its grey market price tag. The other amp in comparison is Sony SD Series

Is the Pioneer mono block comparable with the JBL or an Alpine? In terms of quality in output?
Alpines are good but expensive. JBL is equally good. Also both Alpine and JBL are available with bill and warranty.

For amps, Alpine may have a teeny bit of a upper hand. It's also the most expensive of the three.
JBL would be the best of all three if we were to compare on an all round basis, so like price to perfromance, available with bill, warranty, reliable.
Pioneer makes some scorching amps that we can buy for some seriously low prices thanks to the greay channels. Pioneer 510 is one instance of that. The Pioneer 944 is another. Also used to like the 340 etc, but that seems to have vanished. SPL series is also good.

Are you disposed towardsa 1 brand system. I would recomend a "best of brreed" system. Companies that make good HUs do not always make decent speakers.

oki looks like the amp will be jbl or pioneer no sony then i guess.
for the rear speakers i had decided on the GTO937 but for these i would need modifications to fit into the viva rear shelf. is it advisable to go for 6" speakers like the alpine SPS170A.
also for the front components i got a PM suggesting the boston FS60 or balupunkt VC165. i couldnt find these models on the net. i have heard the boston compos and they sounded pretty good.

guys still need help regarding the viva setup. im not sure how a 6X9 will be fitted into the rear. is it advisable to go for the stock size?
i know the 6" can fit into the front door with the mdf spacer ring. amp will be CS60.4.
Don't go for 6 X 9 at the back. Stick to standard sizes which is 6.5" in the front and 5.25" in the rear.
oki so which speaker would be best for the rear. does the 5.25" fit in directly into the rear speaker slot.
do i need to do any mods to get the 5.25" like damping or the spacer ring?
Its a direct fit. No mods required.
can anybody tell me wats the difference between
1) JBL 607c & JBL 6506c
which one is better???are they of same sizE??
