Speakers for DZire VDI

Hi,

I have the DZire VDI, and I am not happy with the stock speakers.
I want to upgrade them to something good. I am not looking for Amplifiers, external woofers etc now nor later.

I am looking to replace speakers @ rear.

Please let me know which one should I go for and obviously the price for them. I know i might get nothing for the speakers that I have, but still asking will i get , if yes how much should I trade it for. The vehicle is 2 months old.

Vitamin M is 4000

Also, if you want to recommend any shops please post the contact details.

Put a pair of 6x9 ovals on the parcel shelf. JBL, Blaupunkt, Polk or even Pioneer. Any shop on JC, Mission or Lalbagh Road should be able to do it for 3.6-4K.

you want to add the new speakers to the stock location or are comfortable placing them on the rear tray?

If stock locations then you can go for GTO508 otherwise GTO947 in the rear tray.

I am looking to replace the stock speakers in the same location. I am more of concerned for Good Crisp music with support for good bass without any amplifiers or extra woofers...

A 6x9 on the tray would produce what you want. 6.5" coaxes in the rear door stock locations cannot match that, especially the bass kick that you want without amps and sub.

Hi Deepak,

Just wanted to know whether you have upgraded the speakers or still surviving with the stock speakers?

I have purchased Dzire VDI and am also planning to upgrade the speakers with the same budget as yours, just wanted to know your experience of upgrading the stock speakers.

Thanks.

@Khandelwal,
hi I am still running it with the stock speakers. Did not upgrade it.
Planning for some changes in next 6 months including the Tyres and the complete ICE with something real good like a Two DIN system, Amps and Speakers.

Re: Speakers for DZire VDI

Bumping a old thread.

Complete ICE noob. Don't understand any technicalities, please keep the reply noob friendly

Car: Swift Dzire VDI

ICE: Stock speaker, stock HU.

Looking for: A speaker upgrade only. I don't want any amps/tweets etc. Happy if wiring is not tampered.

Looking for co-axials only, don't want to spend on components. Strictly minimum budget.

I mostly listen to Radio/trance and a little bit of everything, hence an all rounder is preferred.

Suggestions based on these please! Also how much damage to pocket?

Re: Speakers for DZire VDI

sachin, why are you looking to upgrade speakers, in other words what is it you find lacking in OE ICE setup?

You can get a pair of 6" coaxials speakers for around 1.8-3.5k from JVC,Pioneer,JBL. Listen to them & choose any of them as per your liking and budget.Try avoiding Sony.
These speakers will fit in the stock locations and can be installed with the existing wiring, hence no tampering.

Since you said you are an ice noob, you may not be able to spot the difference between original and fakes, make sure you buy them with bill and warranty card.

Hi, even by noob standards, I find the quality to be lacking. To add, the biggest drawback is the lack of USB port. I wonder what was MSIL thinking when they decided on this head unit

Thanks for the heads up. Yes, I will buy em with warranty card. And the price 1.8-3.5k you mention is for 4 speakers right? I would prefer the 1.8k stuff as I have to save from my pocket money for this. Parents won't give me a paisa for ICE stuff. Every time I bring up the topic, they snub it aside saying its useless spending on it.

Also I would be grateful if someone could tell me the model number of particular speaker set

1.8k for a pair.
If its you mostly driving alone, you can get only the front speakers changed and move the fader in the stereo to front.
No need to spend on the rear ones.
