Need help upgrading stock speakers Hello Gurus, need help here
I drive a Honda city 2008 (NHC) vtec for 15 months, only thing I don’t like about this car is the music system sound quality
Here is the stock set up :
CDA-W925EM -- Pretty decent HU has lot of options but the speakers simply can’t produce the difference in different settings. So NO plans to change the HU.
Front :5.1/4” and 6.5” in the rear try.
I wanted to upgrade these speakers,
================================================== ==============
Here is the HU SPEC
----------------------------------------------
CD PLAYER SECTION
Frequency Response 5 – 20,000 Hz (±1 dB)
Wow & Flutter (% WRMS) Below measurable limits
Dynamic Range 93 dB (at 1 kHz)
Signal-to-Noise Ratio 105 dB
Channel Separation 86 dB (at 1 kHz)
GENERAL
Power Requirement 14.4 V DC
(11–16 V allowable)
Power Output 18 W RMS × 4*
* Primary amplifier ratings per CEA-2006 Standard
• Power output: measured at 4 Ohms and ≤ 1% THD+N
• S/N: 80 dBA (reference: 1 W into 4 Ohms)
Maximum Pre-Output Voltage 2V/10 k ohms
================================================== ============
Does this 18 W RMS will be enough to power the following new speakers.
Front door
KAPPA52.9I or Infinity KAPPA50.9CS
Rear tray
Infinity KAPPA63.9I or KAPPA693.9I or JBLGT0 938
I am not planning for Sub now or latter
So do I need a Amp to power above speakers if yes which one ? (pls suggest the VFM models)
If the Gurus think a different setup , please suggest. Thank you !!!
