Fiat Linea

I want to upgrade the sound on the Linea and would like to do it in the most non instrusive way - save the headunit, may be add a good high current amp, speakers and a sub. Could you please help me with a course of action - brands, general pricing, things to watch for, stay away from? I am inclined to save the head unit so as to save the Blue and Me nonsense.

I am new to India and the scene here, when I was last here, I was modding my Padmini! So, I have been way out of touch.

Also, are there GPS systems worth getting into? Are the maps and the like up to date?
