Which sub will meet my Swift needs?

Hi,
I have read a few threads here but am unable to find something which will suit me and my budget.

I have Swift LDI and thanks to the suggestions from the gurus on this forum, have built up my ICE in small phases as per the availability of budget.

I currently have:
Stereo (Sony bt3600u)
2 Speaker 6" (JBL gt5 652)
2 6" speakers (JBL gt5 650C)

The components are in front and composites are in the back.

Usually its just 2 people in the car and we listen to bollywood songs, punjabi etc.. no rock or metal1. Also, we are not looking for HIGH volume, but fuller sound with quality. I guess a subwoofer would fill the missing base in the car in this situation. Am I right?

Also, I cannot sacrifice a lot of boot space of the swift ldi.

Can anybody give me some options please for low budget sub setup. Will i need an amp too with the HU i specified above, for my requirements?

you will need an amp and about 1 cu. ft. of boot space for a sealed box sub. The Swift has very limited boot space, how much space can you sacrifice?

Inn most cases BOOM is a matter of tuning. A 12" woofer needs atleast 1 cu. ft. to breathe.

Or you could get an 10" sub with .5cu.ft enclosure with polyfill upto a pound to make up for the small enclosure depending on the sub specs. But there aren't many 10's available in market unless you are lucky to find some in grey.

I have a feeling that the gurus may not approve, but consider a powered sub. Blaupunkt sells a pretty compact one, that could fulfill your needs.

If interested, pm me for details on Blau's distributor in Bom.

Cheers,

I recently recommended a Blaupunkt GTw 1000 10 inch sub to a friend. It was installed in 0.6 cu. ft box in a Swift, and I can surely say its value for money. Should be available for ~2.2 with B&W.

hmm, ok thanks for this tip. So with my HU, will I need to purchase an amp too to use this subwoofer?

If yes, any directions for which one and approx prices of the 10" subwoofer and the corresponding amp?

you will need an amp. either a monoblock or a good 2 ch. amp that can be bridged (most can) will do.
