Hey Ranjit,

Truly an awesome looking headunit. I believe only the knob is detachable as a security feature and iPod can only be connected to the HU but cant be controlled directly from the HU? Pretty good features like Time Alignment & 3 RCA output. What is the Pre-out voltage? Whats the soumd like? Cost & review please.

The HU is a digital media receiver and has complete support for IPOD and support ultra-fast connection as per Alpine Web portal. It supports USB drives but there is no optical drive. Folder browse / song & folder search is available for USB and IPOD.

Currently, I am playing some songs thru USB drive since I lost my beloved ipod after I ordered this product

Pricing: 200USD + 20 USD shipping from bestbuy.com to my friend's address

So.. approx 10k INR.

As far as speakers go, 6500 for front speakers, 5500 for rear, 800 for enclosed/detachable tray. I m not sure whether it is competitive pricing but I got installation for free.

I am happy with the whole setup as I am not a huge thump fan but love the bass at the right levels.

The manual to the HU is available on this Web site:

support.alpine-usa.com/products/documents/OM_iDA-X303_EN.pdf

Nice HU. I think it begs for an amp. Let your ICE journey begin

Re: Swift ICEd with Alpine iDA-X303

If tuned right, a subwoofer would never overpower any spectrum of sound. It would all sound like a symphony. Audition some SQ setups that have subwoofers installed in them, you'd be left wondering whether there was a subwoofer in there or not! It's like you can only "notice" its absence and "feel" its presence.
Bass is just what you call it- "BASE"- The "foundation of GOOD music" as LBM once told me.

Try it, you won't be disappointed, you've got a very nice headunit and very nice sounding speakers which are worthy of it.

I suspect you've haven't really experienced any SQ ICE setups as of yet that is why you're taking BASS to be all boomy and loud, overpowering everything called Music.

You must atleast, try to amplify the frontstage, it would do a world of good.
Just a few suggestions from my side.

HU looks cool and price seems to be reasonable as well.

This HU for sure needs a amp and sub, please plan one soon
