replacing (just) the wiring

hi guys,
I have an ordinary stereo system in my car - nothing high end. Now, I am facing constant problems of the speakers going off and coming back, hissing, etc. : basically a lot of connection problems.

Now the wiring that I have in my Santro is some kind of twisted pair cable.

After reading a lot of info here, I came to the conclusion that I may be better off replacing my wiring.

Could you give me an idea of what _brand name_ wiring to ask for, what gauge.. and roughly how much it would cost? I dont want to spend a lot because of marginal budgets.

thanks!

Before you do all that first find a competent ICE installer.
