Ice install for the Polo comfortline

Hi everyone,
I am trying to put together an ICE system for the PoLo comfortline. As you might know, the comfortline variant comes with a beautiful black cover with a storage cubicle below it, at the place where the head unit should be. Must be Volkswagon's way of telling you what you didnt get for your money.
These are my simple requirements:
- Budget of Rs 20,000, can be extended by Rs 3,000.
- Single din head unit, with a red or white colour display (to go with the car's center panel lighting)
- HU must have aux -in, usb in and ipod compatibility. Bluetooth is not compulsory.
- Music I listen to will be mostly classic rock, ability to blow my mind when Pink Floyd or Mark Knofler comes along is a must.

The set up I had in mind was to go for a decent head unit, two components at the front, a 4- channel ampliflier, +/- decent co axials at the rear.
The car will mostly be driven with only two people in it.
Your thoughts please.

Hi Simpleman,

Congrats on your new purchase!!!!!Wish you many happy mile crunching....

Had one doubt - for Comfortline, I guess they come with "Radio preperation and partial pre wiring" as standard, right? So wouldn't adding anything extra( as in sub woofer and amP) void its electrical warranty?

Pioneer 3190, 3290 and 4290 have red colour display. 4290 looks cool and should be available for +/- 8K with B&W. Also, I think some of the JVC models have multiple colour displays. You can check them as well.

Re: Ice install for the Polo comfortline

hello gentlemen, this is what transpired.
HU: Pioneer 5250
Front speakers: MTX thunder 6000 series components
Back speakers: MTX thunder 6000 series co axials
Amplifier: Auditor RIP series

The front components were mounted using spacers, the rear speakers were mounted on the MDF parcel tray.
The install was done at Powerzone, Royapettai.
The sound quality is amazing and this setup more than rocks my fellas.
Many thanks to Prithvi_selvn, who offered an audition of a couple of setups, came on the day of the install and stayed till the end.
Also hats off to Mr. Saravana Prabhu of Powerzone for a clean install and patient tuning.

Hi, I was at the global galleria THANE (Mumbai) yesterday for booking the POLO, I was keen on getting the Sony XPLOD fitted from local vendor but the Salesman said the Warranty on the entire vehilce will be void if we touch the electricals.
How far is this true? will they wash their hands away from the mechanical failure if any due to this reason?

Please advice.
regards.

Re: Ice install for the Polo comfortline

They said that for fitting even Sony? Thought that would be their favorite! You should have asked fitting which brand does it not void warranty. Probably he would then have told you which brand he carries.

No, if the HU and speakers are fitted mating with the harness provided by VW (no cutting - shutting), it would not void the warranty.

Sir, a noob question. What if we leave the factory fitted speaker wires untouched, and install different wires? Will this void the warranty too?
