Ofcourse, Scorpio allows double DIN but i went to single DIN because of 2 reasons.
1. Cost (Double DINs are costly)
2. I wanted to use on DIN space for holding CDs.

I am also looking to install ICE in my Scopio SLE, I bought in April this year. I did not install ICE as I did not get time when I was in India. I will be visiting India in 1-2 months. So planning to do this time.
Could some one give the size of the speakers that can be fit without cutting metal.
what is the max size of the speaker which can be fitted for
Front doors
rear door
in the roof near the rear tail gate door.
I would like buy the speakers ,HU and woofer here in Germany so that I get more time and more brands in selecting.
In scorpio SLE ( new version, thats all i know ) there is only option for front door and the tail door (roof). Here
On the front side i think 6inches would fit in.
On the tail door only 4 inch can fit in.
With this you cannot get enough bass so i fixed a sub too.

Today I visited Sathya again to fix the "protect mode" issue which comes when the VMS is enabled. This was simple wiring change (connectiong VMS to woofer directly, currently was connected to the crossover circuit). But the HU was constantly in protect mode and it had to be serviced. Luckily the service centre was run by one of my friend so got it corrected in no time . Sathya again tuned it and it is now working perfectly fine.
Thanks Sathya again!

Regards,
Scorpio Fan

After the upgrade, is your Voice assist system still working?

I guess that was for me!

Yes, the VAS is still working. The VAS uses the front right speaker only. So i just dint touch the front OE wiring & upgraded all the other cables.

that said, your's is a SLE which came without HU & speakers right? So it would definitely have one small seperate speaker for the VAS, isnt it??

Re: ICEing my White Scorpio

Raj, I know your VAS is working! I remember asking you about the connections.
So the question was actually for the Scorpio_fan. Anyway, I got my VAS working again - in spite of using different wires and different speakers all around.

My requirement was to have a good quality sound with a medium bass effect. The amp of the HU was good enough to give good quality sound. The only amp i used was for sub and it gives enough puch which is enough for me. I dont intend to vibrate the whole street

yes the voice assist is working but i have small issues. Initially when ever the voice assist got enabled the HU went to protect mode (Kenwoods seems to be too sensitive). Now they connected the voice assist to woofer directly after the crossover circuit. But now also some times the HU goes to prtect mode.. i dont know how to tacle this. How did you manage to wire this?

I'm not certain, I only saw him add a few wires. As he was also fixing an issue with the speakers, I am not certain what was done for which issue. But I'm happy with the end result. It functions just like in the OE. When the system is active, it reduces the volume of whatever is playing and in a clear voice makes the proclamation! The song continues to play as soon as he is finished.

Re: ICEing my White Scorpio

Phase 2 completed, added a 11 inch screen to the set up. Bought a circuit i screen from Sathya and fixed on the same day. Initially thought about 9 inch but when fixed i felt 11 inch is a good bet. Will post few pictures [sorry i did not click any installation pics] soon.

Re: ICEing my White Scorpio

I still face issue with my Kenwood going to protect mode when the VMS gets activated. It is not predictable, and will not happen always. But some times it does, i am thinking of seperating VMS speaker from the HU speaker. Any comments?

Re: ICEing my White Scorpio

Finally visited EVO after long 3 years! That means their installation was really stable.

Got the "protected" mode issue resolved. Installed a separate speaker under dash just for VMS. Now no more "protected" mode. Thanks Sathya (blueraven316) for the help. Also there was some lines coming up in the over head screen, that was a loose contact behind the HU. Good job!

Note : Satya was not there when I reached, but came after 1 hour. But the car was still in Q and he left after 30 minutes. I thought he had instructed the service person on how to fix it but unfortunately not. Then I instructed him to fix a separate speaker and he did exactly that! As I see, there is a shortage on the expert workers at least yesterday. Don't know if this a on off case.
