Hello !
My VW Polo 1.6 Petrol is to go in for ICE this afternoon.
It will be going to 4S Auto @ Tardeo for the job.
A 2 Z Audio will do the needful.
This job should take about 15 ++ days.
I will keep all informed / posted with regular pictures & updates.
My fingers are crossed. Hope it turns out good.
I will enlist what I am to install soon.
Stay tuned.
Thanks for looking.
:Cheering:
Gear that may go in :-
3 Amps - Steg [Will have to check the specs]
2 Subs - Illusion Carbon 12"
Dynaudio Components - Front - 6"
MB Quart Components - Rear - 6" [Q Line]
More details in a bit.
:)

I dont think i would go to that extreme of modifying my cars. But can definitely understand the passion behind these changes.
Would be interesting to see the transformation of your car. Waiting to see the pictures.
Good luck
The equipments smells SQ setup. Can you put up the amps specs and models please.
And all the best for your setup.
Yes;
It is a long long time.
However, I need to strip the entire car - inside.
Do the damping - floor + door + boot etc.
Then all the items will be moulded in fibre glass & sand finished & then sent for
auto motive paint & finally installed in the car.
This takes a long time.
Besides, the seats have been removed. They too have gone to be modified & hence the car cannot be driven.
So basically I will be without a car for 15 ++ days.
Depends how long the job takes.

agree:
Yes;
All my auto's are pure 100 % sq.
I do not like spl at all.
Sound Stage 'height' & 'width' are important to me & also the bass arrival. There should not be any mis match & everything should play from outside my wind screen...
Wonderful. Glued to this thread. Will sure get to learn a lot as usual !
Does some of the gear come off the i10?

Yes;
Mix & Match
I-10 & Swift
However, this time - no enclosure of wood / mdf / ceramic [too heavy @ 25 ++ kgs]
We will do it in Fibre Glass.
Will take longer & surely cost much more - but I am hopeful.
Ideas are still bouncing around.
The Damping has started - Phase [A]
Sure, I will take pics & keep you informed.
Thanks for your interest.
Err... No concrete and tile work? Kya saheb, full disappointed! :p
But, I am sure it will be an incomparable system in a hatch. Waiting for the 'may' to become 'will'.

So you are robbing your wife's i10 to do this car?:Shockked:
A FG (FRP) enclosure is stiff but also resonant. You will have to damp the FG panels - one way is to use a FRP-MDF-FRP sandwich or sandwhich the FRP with a material that damps but does not store energy (hint: dont use lead sheet to damp FRP).

Hello N !
How you been ?
All is good.
My wife got a new 1.2 Kappa I-10.
She too got a new audio install.
However, that was a 'plane jane' set up, so I did not bother to post.
There I put Illusion Carbon Components [6"] + 2 Subs - Illusion all driven by 2 Steg Amps & Alpine HU.
However, no exciting install.
In the case of the VW we are doing a lot of different things, hence I started this thread.
Sounds Good with 4S Auto [Tardeo] are going to install.
The work started on 23rd & I hope to get my car back on 7th of next month.
Yes, we will work on the 'partial' damping of the FRP enclosures. We will clad them with caret on the outside & 'other material' on the inside. I too do not want anything to ring.
I shall stay posting the pics, soon !
Very nice equipment Bhagwan. Can't wait to see the completed pics. Which HU will be used? Or is it stock HU+processor?

I am guessing you meant the sound stage should be between the driver and the windscreen?

The HU is a Alpine - 9855 - I think.
The sound stage is from out side the car.
It plays from the A Pillar to the B Pillar and the vocals are above the parking light switch [hazard light] and the sound stage has a front to back 'layering'
Besides, the Bass too plays from the windscreen & beyond. If you close your eyes, you will not realise that the mid bass is next to your ankle & the sound is at your shoulder height.
Maybe you need to experience it. Will post pics, but a demo too shall be possible. We will work on it, let the job get done. 100 % I will share with you & and with all others...

No Bhagwan (and I) prefer the sondstage to extend beyond the A pillars of the car. I prefer to "see" my musicians like they were playing on the bonnet of my car which is why I really hate Processors that do not allow yo control over the TA. The Alpine and RF units (at least these 2 and maybe even the Ms8) TA so that the bass is in the front dash not out in front of the listener.

Get the 117. I know you found the 9987 to be troublesome to set up. The 9855 has some trouble with their slidecontrol.
In the Polo it is a full mix & match set up;
Dynaudio Components
MB Quart Q Line Components
Illusion Carbon Subs
Alpine HU
Steg Amps - 3 pieces
Yes, my wife got all Illusion based audio solution. My Amps are all Steg - sad the company 'folded' !
