What is happening with Image Dynamics?

This sunday my ICE setup is planned with an ID CTX sub. Should I be worried about warranty etc. because this is how their home page looks like as of now.

Nothing within the website is accessible.

Does anyone have any information what's happening with the company?

EDIT: Even if the founder's leaving, is this the right way?

Re: What is happening with Image Dynamics?

Apparently, Eric Stevens have left the company, and seems like most of his employees will follow him - there is a thread running on DIYMA, started by Eric himself about this development.

The link to the discussion is: No Longer with Image Dynamics - DIYMA.com

Re: What is happening with Image Dynamics?

From this thread it looks like the company would now be run by his partner in ID.

Re: What is happening with Image Dynamics?

A few years ago, the founder owner of Image Dynamics, Eric Stevens took on an investor partner with expansion in mind. Unfortunately in the years that have followed, the partner has been making decisions that are not conducive to the code that Eric has run iD by. And despite all efforts to make things work, things have not worked out.

After all negotiations have fallen through, Eric and team have moved on. They are not associated with iD anymore and are now developing a new line of products under a new brand.

In the meantime, It remains to be seen how the brand Image Dynamics recovers from this under the leadership of the new owner.

As the official importer for Image Dynamics, warranty for products sold here is something we are responsible for. Rest assured, we have sufficient spares and stocks to cater for any warranty claims.

On a personal level, it is indeed sad that this has happened to a wonderful brand and an equally brilliant team of people passionately committed to putting out a quality product. I for one, will be tucking some iD stuff away for myself that I don't intend on parting with at all.

@gunbir: Because of this development, will there be a chance of close out sales happening for iD at low prices - either in India or in US?

Gunbirji,

Matt was Eric's right hand man (VP R&D/Production) is he going with Eric too?

I had met Matt once around 1996-7. Remember Audio Designs? He was sharp and a nice guy too. I think Audio Designs worked on the R&D for the first ID horns na?

As far as the ID story. It is sad but stories like this are not uncommon. We both (and others like Sam Kapasi and Ajay Kamath) know a few.

Not in India. If anything, there is a sudden spurt in demand that we are trying to cope with. CTX124 is already on a short supply.

Yes, Matt has left as well. They are both stand up guys. Yes, we hear these stories all the time in the audio world. It just goes to show we live in an era where talent and ethics aren't all that's needed to stay in business. Sad, really.

Matt Borgardt is also out of iD, and Eric said in his DIYMA thread that Matt will be joining him in his future endeavors.

:( I am not in a position to book it now - I am planning for a new ICE set up in June, and I was hoping to check out iD subs when I do the set up.
