Saw this place on the net (which routed me to another forum called fiatworld).

VV Cardecors is right opposite the AKDR Golf Village on OMR - on the same side of the road about 400 yards from Fortune Select Palms when you move towards Shozhinganallur.

Pros:
For the size of his shop , he holds a lot of stuff - looks like he holds fair inventory of Pioneer HUs , GZ amps and Alpine HUs and speakers.
The rates he quotes are by far the most reasonable I have seen in this city.
Has decent wiring knowledge and gets down to work himself when needed.
Gets great technical support from his contacts even at unearthly hours when he is stuck with a hi-tech issue.
A very, very cool and committed person - he was with us till 1:30 am this morning when we were doing an install of a basic HU+amp+SW audio in a friend's car and never lost his cool even when his guys had committed some minor errors.

Cons:
No shed for him to work out of.
Depends on support in case of extreme complications in electricals - the steering interface was not mapping with the HU and he had to ring people to check.
Like any salesman , tries to push you to buy more than you'd come for; however, does not pull a long face if you don't budge.
Recommended for all accessories and basic audio installs .

Missed this thread somehow. I've visited the place quite few times. Primary advantage is the location for people this side of Chennai. As said by vigsom, Vadivel is a wonderful guy and ensures you leave the place happy and come back for more!

I was also mightly impressed with the quality of leather seats that they were doing for few other cars when I visited. I shall check and share the pictures later. The prices were pretty competitive.

So for those in Chennai ECR/OMR who are on the lookout for an accessory shop without having to visit GP road or the likes can get to VV without doubts.

I visited VV in September to get a new relay and wiring set for my Swift, the old relay went kaput. He charged 1200 including labor for a Philips branded wiring kit with relay. Quick plug and play install. I felt the price was a bit on the higher side, but better than wasting time going city-side. I stay in OMR

Will be visiting him today/tomorrow to inquire about 3D mats for my Storme. I work in ASV Suntech Park, so it is right opposite the road for me.

I have bought car speakers and also fitted seat covers at VV. The owner Vadivel is knowledgeable and as for his seat covers and other stuff he shows them to you on an ipad. Rates on the higher side but excellent workmanship

VV has opened its second branch on OMR now. The new place is opposite to Hotel Asiana and adjacent to Coffee Day.

The new outlet is big, clean and nice with abundant parking space.

The old branch will continue to function as per the owner.

My friend got his seat covers and recommended me this shop. I could not meet Vadivelu. I was requested to visit their Semmencherry shop the next day for the installation. The seat covers were of good quality and workmanship was good. The black leatherite seat covers for my Alto K10 cost Rs5700+2% service charge for card payment. I inquired about installing speakers and found them to be quite expensive compared to another shop. The speakers were expensive and they were charging separately for wiring, wooden plank and labor, I got all these for free in another shop who is also an authorized speaker dealer and saved Rs2500.

Sometimes success gets into one's head and then all that one pines for is more margins.

I personally find the seat covers pricey , finish and fitment notwithstanding.

I called up vadivel for prices of head units and speakers for my santro. He told that he would get back to me or someone from his shop would call me back. I even sent him the product list that I wanted on SMS.

No one called me back, eventhough I followed up twice.

I was asking for an all inclusive price - including installation and wiring.

Again - this response was disappointing. Just FYI - I was looking to give business to him in the tune of Rs. 25000/-.

My car had developed a vibration after hitting a huge pothole. So went here for alignment.

+ He has revamped his place recently and I suspect it is now bigger as well, compared to h14's picture above. It looks more upmarket now.
+ Pretty clean setup.
+ Even from the lounge, you can see the work through window.
+ After the alignment the vibration issue is solved.
+ Has lot of space for multiple cars
+ Many employees so you will be attended to quickly
+ Lots of accessories
+ Now stocks tyres too

- When the car is straight, the steering is slight turned to left. Nothing annoying, but an eyesore if you are a perfectionist. I think while he immobilized steering he did not align it perfectly
- Wheel alignment + balancing around Rs.950. Slightly on the higher side I think

@rageshgr - If you're in the OMR area - use RR Tyres in Thiruvanmiyur (next to Hotel Bharani). Bridgestone dealer with an excellent balancing and alignment facility.

Back to VV Car Decors - bought a pioneer avh x5890bt head unit from him - excellent installation, but he certainly believes in trying to upsell you for things like a reverse camera to take advantage of the HU's support for it, 3M rubbing compound because of a small scratch from a two wheeler trying to overtake on the left that I'd leave for later / do a bunch of such stuff in a batch etc.

So I convinced him I really didn't need any of that - and the rest of the installation went off very well.

Bad thing - he's started putting a small sticker advertising his shop on the cars he works on - in my case, on the boot lid below the Honda logo :( I hate stickering of any sort on my car, except the bare minimum required (apartment / office parking).

Thanks. But Thiru is too far for me. I have heard good things about RK Tyre Point - Thoraipakkam. Yes VV puts a small sticker. I have seen that sticker on lots of cars in OMR. Ya the last thing I want is, random vendor stickers :(

Any idea if he can do tweeter pods? I have installed tweeters on sail panel but I might have to relocate them.

He should be able to do that. Call him and ask?

Tweeter pods are a speciality ice item, usually involves fg work, so you're better off finding a guy who specialises in ice
