When do you plan on travelling? I have used KK travels and they are good with timings. There are multiple rental car companies which provide cabs at good rates (typically between 2200-3600).
Reason I asked for when - I will be travelling to Mumbai next week, could drop you off

Agree completely on Meru's service. My experience over the last couple of years using Meru has been-

Airport run - Meru always, never fails and always punctual, best option in town
Other runs - like railway station, Majestic bus stand etc, Meru is not reliable, have failed to turn in more than one instance.

My verdict take Meru for Airport runs and Ola for city commute.

The issue is that the Railway Taxi operators harass the Meru cabs

KK Travels provides good service on Pune-Mumbai Airport pick up / drop. I see many of them on this route. I know of their shared service (guess its Rs.800/- per person). It is comfortable (only 3 passengers in a car) & punctual. I believe they must be offering dedicated service too at around this rate.

There is also Meru Plus available for inter city travel.

I see no shortage of other call taxis there - Ola, Fast Track etc etc. What is it with Meru that the railway taxi goons harass just them and leave other call taxis alone?

An update to Pune - Mumbai sector one way what I found out,

1. KK travels charges 3300/- for Toyota ETIOS including toll charges.
2. T Cabs charges 3000/- + to way toll for veritos.
3. Meru in Pune do not have service to Mumbai.
4. Though from various sources, I found out Wings do have Pune-Mumbai service, but could not able to connect through their customer care after many tries. But their prices seems to be lesser. Will update once I speak to their operator.
5. Other local travel agencies provides at lesser rate.

Please update if any one have more information as this may help other who would be willing to avail individual cab services.

Wings is much cheaper because they use Maruti Eeco - non AC. Or sometimes Indicas. Sure the fare will be less than an Etios or Verito sedan.

Ola used to provide long distance / outstation rentals, not sure why they stopped :(

EasyCabs, the radio taxi service by Carzonrent, has tied up with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC). The step enables customers to book EasyCabs on the IRCTC website at the time of train reservation. Currently the service is available for Delhi and NCR. In the coming few months the service is expected to be extended to other cities.

EasyCabs claims that the association with IRCTC will make travelling convenient, hassle-free and safe for customers. It will mean that customers will not have wait in long queues to get a cab after a long train journey.

All the EasyCabs are centrally tracked through GPS.

Seems like Ola has changed their fare structure in some cities and it is now very similar to Uber. They too charge for ride time now. Initial 4/6 km fare comes to ₹99/150 in Mumbai. Per km charges have been increased too. All in all Ola has become much more expensive than Uber in all cases now!

Urgent: What taxi / cab service would you guys recommend for an airport drop off in Hyderabad? Thoroughly confused by reviews of cab operators online and their fares.

We just need someone that's punctual and brings a clean car.

Meru is fine, though overpriced. So is ola, and uber where you can find it.

hellmet - go for Meru, for the airport drop. Have used them during my trips to hyderabad and have found them reliable.

If they still dont show up, the OLA's or Uber's book now option is always there.

In Chennai they have not changed the per km fare, but levy peak time charges now (~ 1.3 times). I think this was subsequent to Fast Track deciding to take them to court for "predatory pricing designed to drive other operators out of the market".
