This is how the 0.85 ton payload mini-truck looks.
Round reflectors on each side and a reflector strip running across the bumper.
Cheesy "+" decals on the doors.
New nomenclature.
Segment first :
Fuelsmart is what Mahindra has branded the ability to toggle between power or fuel efficiency.
850 kgs payload capacity. Side-walls do not hinge open.
145/80 R12 tyres.
Rear leaf-spring suspension.
Battery placed on the exterior RHS.
Utilitarian dashboard has the bare basics.
The Instrument cluster has been given a modern look.
Dual tone seats.
The Power-Eco toggle switch. When you switch to Eco, the engine power drops from 26 BHP to 17 BHP.
That is not the gear-stick, it's the steering column!
4-speed gear-stick placed next to the driver seat.
A dead pedal. High time manufacturers start providing these in passenger cars across all segments.
A 12V charging point.
Flimsy yet lockable storage bin on the dashboard.
Keys are basic, include a help-line number embossed on them.
Vehicle information bolted below the dashboard.
Specifications:

This appears to be Mahindra's answer to the super Ace of TATA which is slowly and steadily increasing sales volumes and is seen more everywhere than the Ace these days.
So another vehicle to be scared about on the highway.. The meter console seem to be lifted straight from a two-wheeler.

In the thirst to extract better FE, we'll see the switch always in the Eco position, and the vehicle loaded to twice its capacity and chugging on the right lane at 30kmph. Though a novel idea, I don't know how effectively will it be used.
Is this not in the Dost and Super-Ace territory?

For a split second, I was wondering why such a rod at that place!
The sacred dead pedal! I knew this would be coming :D

Now the Maxximo has grown to carry 100 kgs more.
This is not in Dost / Super ACE category and still lower.

I am surpised with the toggle in power with the touch of a button. What is it behind this? a variable data set?

This brings back memories of the unsupported Ashok Leyland steering column of yore.

So, it's still in the Ace & Force Trump segment.

Yeah, even I would hazard such a guess.
Mahindra has started testing a facelifted version of its Maxximo Plus LCV. The test mule of the vehicle has been spotted on the roads of Chennai.

It's remarkable to see a beam adjuster dial in a vehicle such as this. But how many drivers will ever use it!
