Escorts launches Farmtrac Heritage Tractors in South Africa

Escorts India has announced the launch of the Farmtrac Heritage tractor range in South Africa at NAMPO 2014, an agriculture show in the country. The company is aiming this range at small farmers.

The Heritage range, which was displayed at the Agritechnica trade fair in Hannover (Europe) last year, consists of the 6050, 6060 and 6057 tractors which fall in the 50 hp to 75 hp category. They are available in two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive variants and Escorts claims that they are the most fuel efficient tractors in their class.

The South African tractor market includes tractors up to 450 bhp. Indian tractors operate in the 30 hp to 90 hp category. With the Farmtrac Heritage range Escorts will try to acquire about 10% market share of the sub-80 hp segment by 2020.

Escorts has been present in the South Africa tractor market since the last 15 years in partnership with Dicla Farm & Seed P. Ltd. and has a distribution and service network across the country.
