DICV starts production of LHD FUSO trucks for export markets Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has commenced production of left-hand drive FUSO trucks for export markets at its Oragadum plant. The first heavy-duty truck, the FUSO FJ, will be initially launched in markets such as Nigeria, Ethiopia and Egypt. Later it will be introduced in more African, Latin American and Middle Eastern markets.
With this development, DICV has strengthened its portfolio of new FUSO trucks for non-Asian markets. The company also plans to showcase a variant of the new DICV-made FUSO LHD truck at the upcoming IAA Hannover Show in September.
DICV-made trucks are already exported to countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Kenya, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Brunei - all of which are right-hand drive markets. The company will start manufacturing medium-duty FUSO left-hand drive trucks later this year, which will allow it to cater to more markets. |
