Volvo-Eicher launches Pro 6000 series truck

VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has announced the launch of the Eicher Pro 6000 series heavy trucks in India.

The Pro 6000 range consists of:

Eicher Pro 6025 - 25 tonne GVW, 6x2 haulage truck
Eicher Pro 6031 - 31 tonne GVW, 8x2 haulage truck
Eicher Pro 6025T - 25 tonne GVW, 6x4 tipper

The Eicher Pro 6000 range uses VEDX5 and VEDX8 engines, which have been developed in collaboration with Volvo. These engines feature Volvo's engine management system (EMS 3.0). The trucks are equipped with features such as Eicher Live telematics, fuel coaching, cruise control and an on-board diagnostics system, which enables proactive maintenance. There are fault indicators in the form of visual signals, messages and alarms.

VECV claims that the Pro 6000 series trucks offer best-in-class fuel economy, superior productivity and high driver efficiency.

Eicher was so long taken for granted by big two's in the Industry (so is the way their product offering). Now Eicher has hit the Bull's Eye with the Pro Series. I dont think anything better than this can be expected from a JV company. Almost the complete portfolio is revamped - infact all segment gaps are unplugged, and that too in the right time when competition is moving in top gear. I would like to see, how the market accepts the products, as here in M&HCV industry not all good products are being accepted due to various reasons like brand loyalty, convenience of service etc etc. Hope they have understood from the failure stories of Mahindra Navistar.
So yet and another wait and watch scenario.
