Tata Ultra 1415 4x4

Tata commercial vehicles recently launched new SIGNA range of vehicles which includes a Light commercial 4x4 vehicle named TATA ULTRA 1415 4X4.

Which could be the desi Unimog.

Tata Motors introduced the Tata ULTRA1415 4X4 at the Auto Expo 2016 With enhanced levels of durability and reliability, the Tata ULTRA1415 4X4 is a new fully built solution for the Indian I&LCV customer, equipped with a state-of-the art snow plough.

The vehicle is also mounted with a hydraulic crane for self-loading and unloading, enabling the vehicle to reduce human effort for large material pieces like pipes, large machineries, oil barrels, huge tyres, timber, including most industrial and construction applications.

Powered to go anywhere on almost any surface with a factory-installed 4x4 powertrain, the TATA ULTRA 1415 4X4 is a rugged performer and also ensures driver comfort, high load carrying-capacity and safety, along with best product life-cycle.

With a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 13.5 ton, the TATA ULTRA 1415 4X4 is powered by a 3.3L DICOR engine that offers 150 PS of power and 430 NM torque, making it is an extremely versatile Intermediate commercial vehicle. Furnished with a spacious cabin, the TATA ULTRA 1415 4X4 is equipped with a gear knob in the dash board and a fully trimmed power steering, ensure a safe and comfortable working design for the driver.

Additionally, the Tata ULTRA 1415 4X4’s adjustable and collapsible steering column, braking system which is full air type with ABS, adds to the safety of the vehicle. The vehicles parabolic suspension system adds to the comfort and sturdiness.

The Tata ULTRA 1415 4X4 can also be fitted with a Central Heating Ventilation and Air-Conditioning system (HVAC) for a more comfortable. The vehicle can also be hooked up to a Telematics system.

All these together make the Tata ULTRA 1415 4X4, a reliable asset and the most efficient solution for optimum business profitability. Thanks for the info. Looks great. And i cannot ignore the similarities it got with the Unimog concept, can be seen here

Of course it is. It would have been better with the Military spec tyres.
I assume this is more of a concept than something in production, though these may find applicational use across the high ranges in North and North Eastern India.

But very happy to see a desi version of the renowned UNIMOG

This would make a very competent off roading expedition vehicle. The 4X4 Tata 407 is around 6.5 lakhs, I wonder what would be the price tag for this. But anyhow I think for the adventurists its a much refined platform to build his dreams on.

Wandernomad, the 4x4 407 is over 10L OTR in Karnataka.
I wonder what this is priced at, can anyone find out?

Commercial plates/ commercial driving license I would expect.

Does anyone know the crane capacity? Replace a Hydra for lower capacities?
