Advertising on public transport vehicles Recently BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation) Volvo A/c city buses have been sporting advertisements on the bus externals. People may recall reading in the media sometime back that court had banned all advertising on the vehicle external citing distraction to other road users and could potentially result in accidents. Immediately after the court ruling all advertising on vehicles had stopped.
For the past month or so, the advertising on the public transportation has surfaced again. Initially, only very few BMTC a/c buses (plying between Silkboard <> Hebbal / Silkboard <> ITPL) started displaying the ads and now is being displayed in more and more buses. Are they now permitted to display advertisements?
