Piaggio has launched a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) in India - the Porter 700. With a payload capacity of 700 kg, it will compete against the likes of the Mahindra Jeeto and Tata Ace. The Porter 700 has been priced at Rs. 3,18,257 (ex-showroom, Maharashtra).

The Porter 700 has been placed a slot higher than the Porter 600, which is already on sale in India. In appearance, the Porter 700 appears to be a larger version of the 600. It measures 3,544 mm in length, 1,460 mm in width and 1,738 mm in height, while the ground clearance is 218 mm. The loading deck is 1,950 mm long and 1,400 mm wide and has a loading area of 30 sq.ft.

The Porter 700 draws power from a 652cc, single-cylinder engine that churns out 14 BHP and 40 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed synchromesh gear box. Piaggio is also offering an extended warranty of 2 years or 75,000 km with the LCV.
