Vipin Sondhi to quit Ashok Leyland

Vipin Sondhi will be stepping down from the post of MD and CEO of Ashok Leyland, with effect from December 31, 2021.

Sondhi has decided to step down as he wishes to devote more time to take care of personal and family commitments. In the interim, Chairman Dheeraj Hinduja has been requested by the Board to step in as Executive Chairman with immediate effect.

Sondhi was appointed as the MD and CEO of the premier truck maker in December 2019, for a period of 5 years.

Sondhi is an alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad and holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from IIT, Delhi. Prior to Ashok Leyland, he was the MD and CEO - India, South East Asia & Pacific of JCB, for 14 years.
