Pieter Elbers, current CEO of KLM, is leaving and will join Indigo as CEO later this year.

Pieter has been a true blue employee, as KLM employees are known, working his way through the ranks at KLM.
The KLM employees appreciated him very much. He could always count on massive support from his employees in difficult times.

He did not get on well with his boss at Air France at all. His successor was announced some weeks ago already. (she is currently head of the Dutch Railroads).

Not sure if he is really poached. It was in the cards for everybody to see Pieter was at the end of his tenure within the Air fFrance group.

I can’t say I know him, but I have met him once at a KLM do I was invited to. About 7 years ago. He was very interested in my experience and thoughts about working, living and doing business in India.
