And what with all those loose parts? Looks like the parts started falling off on the road and the driver kept collecting them till the cab was full of all these loose parts Lol.

There are lots of these AMW trucks in Kolkata. These can be found mostly in the construction areas like New Town, Rajarhat, etc.

There is even a showroom on NH6. The trucks I must say seemed to me pretty ok. The fit and finish is apparantly fine and they look good as well. They are a lot better than those wooden bodied Tata & Leylands.

Yes! Its the upcoming AMW LCV.With a seriously pathetic dead-ringer for a BMW front end. And very Chinese..

are they with HCV as well, not sure but have seen one cargo with similar logo in front on ahmedabad-rajkot highway last week, size was similar to tata 407.

So, Will it launch in India?

Remember seeing this AMW pick up at the auto expo 08.
This i think will give a good competition to the ace. This should also give volumes to AMW and help them increase their presence in the country.

i dont understand why they have to do this?
wats he use of copying bmw?
will anyone buy it jus for that?

instead they could have gone for a simple grill

atleast one could respect their product
now they simple got a dirty lable of copycats when they have worked hard for the remaining engineering of the product
they could have had their own unique grill
also this particular grill is tooo distinctly bmw

why why?!

OK guys, I think I figured it out. The vehicle is called 'Chana Star' and is made by Changan Auto in China.

Changan makes various Suzuki models and this is obviously based on the Every or Carry which is same as Maruti Versa. AMW has changed the headlights adopted the BMW kidney grille and probably some other changes too. Changan offers 1.0 and 1.3 petrols.

It is not "Chana Star" from Changan Auto. The Chana Star grill don't look the same. AFAIK it is a Yu'an Star Pick-up from Dong Feng Motors (DFM - A Chinese Manufacturer). They also have van and Panel van (Omni Cargo type) version of the same truck. AMW will get the complete vehicle and will be selling it under their brand name.
