Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus Ambulance launched at Rs 13.99 lakh

Mahindra has launched the Bolero Neo Plus. However, it is only available for commercial purposes, and more precisely as an ambulance. The vehicle is priced at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Bolero Neo Plus is a longer wheelbase version of the Bolero Neo. Mahindra has retained the same bodyshell but gets a reworked front fascia. It features a gloss black grille, smoked headlamps and redesigned bumpers.

Inside, the Bolero Neo Plus Ambulance is equipped with a single-person operable stretcher mechanism, provision for an oxygen cylinder, a washbasin and a public address system.

The Bolero Neo Plus Ambulance is powered by a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine that puts out 118 BHP and 280 Nm. The engine is mated with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

What the heck!!!

What a weird way to launch a car. No way they are going to keep it as an 'ambulance' only model. Even if they don't launch it for private buyers, they will definitely offer it for fleet sales. So why offering it as an ambulance first?

Yes, but I doubt if they would launch it for fleet sales. I guess they will just add these extended Neos as simply variants of the Bolero Neo and market it that way.
I once spoke to a company cab driver who had a Marrazzo as to why he chose Marrazzo instead of TUV300+ (while Bolero Neo was still TUV) he mentioned that customers while opting for 7 seaters prefer front facing third row seats rather than side facing ones.
And personally, as far as I have observed in the Mahindra service centres, most of the TUV300+ were white boards (large family customers) and not many cab drivers took to TUV300+ probably because of the side facing 3rd row seats.

Re: Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus Ambulance launched at Rs 13.99 lakh

I recently test drive Bolero Neo and the jumpy ride was a big red flag. Family buyers are spoilt for choice these days with Carens and Ertiga/Rumion/XL6 offering great ride. Mahindra will have to work the same frequency damping suspension they offer on Scorpio for the Bolero Neo Plus to work. Also, not sure why Mahindra is not plonking its awesome 1.2L turbo petrol in the Marazzo and Bolero Neo. If Mahindra can bring the petrol engines and do some magic on the suspension, I am 100% sure they can double their sales from Bolero Neo and Marazzo.

I am not sure, but I think this has to do with state regulations,
where a so-called-and-accepted as a 'commercial vehicle' is available with a private plate (white plate).

I may be looking at it incorrectly.

Can I buy an expensive model in a cheaper version? I don't know.

If yes, with a white plate, I can travel anywhere.

I may be wrong, I accept my information is incomplete. Just my char-aane into the conversation.

Drive safe

The kerb weight of the Bolero Neo and Marazzo needs the 1.5l TGDi, however boosted the 1.2l maybe.

What the Bolero Neo needs is the D15 1.5l 4 cylinder diesel from the XUV300/Marazzo. The 3 pot 1.5l doesn't have a space in a private owned car in this age.

I disagree. The Mahindra 1.2L turbo petrol has 130BHP and 230NM of torque. May not make for sporty handling but more than enough for use as family vehicles cruising in comfort!
