| Force Motors to deliver 2,978 Gurkha SUVs to Indian Defence Forces Force Motors has bagged an order for 2,978 Gurkha SUVs from the Indian Defence Forces. The carmaker will deliver purpose-built SUVs for both the Indian Army and Indian Air Force.  Prasan Firodia, MD of Force Motors, said, “We are honoured to continue our association with the Indian Defence Forces through this substantial order. Our vehicles are designed with a focus on quality, reliability, ruggedness, and performance, aligning perfectly with the operational needs of our defence personnel. This order is a testament to the trust and confidence Indian Defence Forces place in Force Motors.” The updated Gurkha was launched last year. The off-roader is available in 3-door and 5-door body styles priced at Rs 16.75 lakh and Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively. The Gurkha is powered by a 2.6-litre 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 138 BHP and 320 Nm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4x4 system. The Gurkha is equipped with an independent suspension at the front with fully locking mechanical differentials on both axles. It offers a ground clearance of 233 mm.
