I do not think government owned buses are insured. It is not mandatory AFAIRC. The fact that MSRTC has paid Rs.5L & is willing to pay the remaining 8L is only because of our shripad's influences. He obviously is quite influential in his town & in MSRTC circles.

I am extremely sorry to hear about your experience Shripad, but am also glad that there were no fatalities. This is not an easy task, but if you get the press & MNS / Shiv Sena on this, relief could be just around the corner. A certain Meru cab driver's family got their 3 lakh rupee compensation within a matter of days after the press & MNS intervened.
