Pics: Defence Stallion

I always loved these defense vehicles. They have a class of their own. Seen this Ashok Leyland Stallion parked at Juhu Beach and managed to take a pic of it. There are different models and I'm not sure which one this is. It has a turbocharged diesel engine producing about 155-170 bhp. It can carry a payload of 5 tons cross country and 7.5 tons on the highway.

Heh Heh, So what matey.. Come to Bangalore or visit nearby Pune.. You'll see these and many more vehicles on the road.. But its true that these vehicles absolutely rock.. And have been designed very well..

But Alas, you are not going to get your hands on any of those.. not yet atleast..

Gears,
Manish.

I've seen many in Mumbai, but had never taken pics of them. I've also seen a defense medical TATA Sumo and its super. Its got some very high-profile tyres and it looks great. Will take pics when I see it again.

You said it, Gordon! My lower jaw always drops when I see these bad boys on the road. OT - But the others in my car think I am nuts to drool over these machines.

Good catch

hay i wonder if you ever noticed the seating position on these beasts and they are 4x4,ive seen even more meaner machines with the indian army the russian TATRA's, they are as huge as a train engine and their horn sounds like a train horn and are left hand drive, usually they carry tanks on their trailers, ive seen a lot of strange vehicles with army in north india especially in rajasthan, someones even make the highways look small and have escort vehicles to help them.

Oh yeah! These machines look amazing... Both the Tatras and the Stallion look amazing. I get to drool over them a lot. They usually go around for tests on the outer ringroad. Amazing presence! The Army jeeps too look great!

These machines are amazingly huge.I see them almost everyday, and just admire thier size. They can mostly be seen at Colaba Navy Nagar or Ballad Estate. The pics dont give a real deal of it.
