@Alphakilo:
AFAIK, I have nor come across any Limo in KPN fleet. But if you could furnish photos we can conclude things. And yes, initially KPN had quite good number of Veera built bodies which are being rare now a days.

Need info on Hyderabad to Madurai volvo

Kesineni and KPN currently operate on this route and both of them claim different travel time. Has anyone travelled on either of these? if so please let me know the actuals and travel expereince which will help me in booking?

Thanks.
Venkatesh

Here are some pictures of AL Limo
First Bus Featured in AL Website belongs to KPN Travels
Second Bus featured in TVS website belongs to SVL Travels

Well How i remembered the KPN limo is that everytime(I used shuttle between chennai and CBE during my college days) and everytime this Irizar used to overtake the parveen(white-orange Sutlej buses, I preferred them for their 2+1 config) near tirupur and reach cbe well ahead of us. This limo had a very distinct air horn. But how would it help the ventilation if there is a slide window on the normal windows with A/C always chances are that the sliders go kaputt and a/c leaks. Will this not increase the complication in construction and a single piece window would cost less than this config? Moreover one has to ensure that these windows are closed always.Well then one may argue that in case A/C fails or they want to use it as a non-A/C bus then? But my point it when it is designed to be a A/C bus then it should be used so.

The Limo is looking exactly like the Intercentury Luxura. Are they both one and the same?

The difference is being the Luxura is RE and Limo being FE.
But this is not produced any more.

Oh thanks Ashley. But, will the Intercentury Luxura ever see the light of the day? I am still seeing the bus with On Test stickers on it and this has been happening for atleast the last couple of years. Or is it already launched commercially?

Old wine in new bottle!...an old Kallada Travels Volvo B7R sold recently to BadBoy Group, who has repainted the bus. The paint design by Ojes.
It is learned that they are going to operate it between Thrissur and Vellankannei.

Did you get a chance to see inside of this bus? Have they done anything to clean it?

To be very honest - the paint work looks horrendous. The bus has lost its looks at the front.

This is the same bus that 'cheated' me near Alathur, on my way to Madurai from Ernakulam. The bus broke down in the middle of the night, and passengers were left on their own.

Kallada had four KL registered (re-registered) B7Rs. Two runs on Ernakulam-Madurai, and the remaining two were running Ernakulam-Coimbatore (connecting to their Hyderabad service). Now that the Hyderabad bus comes all the way to Ernakulam (its no more a connecting service), they had two extra B7Rs.

They were also operating a weekend special Kottayam-Chennai, which seems to have been stopped now.

9 killed, 59 injured as buses collide - The Times of India

It seems Kallada Volvos regularly meet with accidents in the Salem area. Also the drivers of these buses on certain ocassions drive all the way upto Ktym/tvlla or Tvm from Blore without any break.

CHE-EKM (700km) in 9 hours running time in SRM B9R chennai-thiruvalla volvo
( this must be a record for this route; avg speed ~ 78 kmph )

19:00 - start from koyambedu sharp on time (occupancy = 42)
19:15 - break for dinner (forgot the name, its in poonamalle, near sadayappa thirumana mandapam)
19:45 - resume journey
22:45 - krishnagiri T-junction

Chennai to Krishnagiri in 3hrs 15mins (negating the 30mins break) flat? You kidding me?

B9R should be one hell of a machine, then!
Parveen Travels's B7R takes around 4hrs for the same, FYI.

It can be true!
Lot of interstate multi axle buses do 120+ without any difficulty and they also have the advantage of knowing the road better than others.

9264 was about 6 days old then, and her windscreen was not broken.

I think you are talking about the Ashwamedha, which was about two months old and a broken windscreen.

Aalok
