Even the maruti genuine door sill plates works together as one unit and not with individual doors. I just worked it out myself and found it to be pretty good.

I haven't had any problems yet with the door sill lights. You should go ahead and try it.

Oh, I was always under the impression that the puddle lamps on the Baleno turned on only when that particular door was opened.
Guess I was wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Anyway, if possible I'd like to wire it such that it turns on with the door being opened. If I can't manage to do that, I guess wiring it to the cabin lights should still be fine with me.

Not sure about Baleno factory fitted puddle lamps, but the Door sill plates offered as an accessory by NEXA work together as one unit.

I explained in the previous post how to do the wiring for individual doors. I hope that helps you.

Whoops, I think I mistook what you said about sill plates for puddle lamps.

Meanwhile, I have ordered and waiting for these lights to arrive from aliexpress. This serves as a door open warning as well as puddle lamp and looks really premium to me. I just hope i am able to fit them properly. Have initially ordered only 2 for the front doors.

Did you receive them? If yes, please post some photo or video of them working. :)

I have received them but haven't got a chance to install them yet. My car has gone for some minor body shop repairs so I will be doing it once it is back.

Factory Fit finish & beautifully done setup.
Only concern being, rain water enters will not get accumulated on the light as backside of light is open.

If you look closely, the rain water outlets are located on the outer sheet of metal part of the gate and not on plastic panel. The rain channels are located in such a way as to prevent water coming in contact with the plastic panel or the electrical wiring on the gate. So there is no question of water accumulating on the back side of light. I've tested it thoroughly during the rains in Bihar this year.

Just make sure your vapour barrier(that plastic sheet) and butyl is in good shape and you won't have any issue of water entering the plastic panel side/electricals.

Adding the images of the central dome light from where I have taken the connection for the puddle lamps. I added another LED to the central dome light for more visibility for rear passengers so took these snaps.

The wires soldered to the points where the bulb is attached. This ensures that the puddle lamps light up only when the dome light gets lit.

The coupler I used. It was lying idle with me.

The coupler as attached to the connection of puddle lamps.

Dear Bone Collector sir,

Enthused by your work in the Brezza, I have tried the same in my S-Cross.

I was successful in accomplishing the job only for the two rear doors.

Front ones are very challenging, atleast for me, due to huge bunch of wires passing through in the relevant locations.
Still, I am in the "try" mode and whether I will succeed is a question mark?!

I am waiting for someone in this forum to share the details who has successfully fitted the puddle lamps in all the four doors in a S-Cross as DIY project.

In the initial stage, I got in touch with you via personal message and got some useful links for selecting the lamp parts and other things.
Thanks!

That's great. Share some snaps please.

Keep on trying and you would succeed.

Can you share me a snap of the A pillar area where wires have crossed over to the door? I would need clear and well lit snaps, preferably without flash.

Dear sir,
I have taken the snaps, but, unable to post them at the required place!
They are uploaded in TEAM-BHP site.... somewhere!
It is due to lack of knowledge from my side and again I will try and succeed soon.
Request to bear with me for a possible delay.

I'm guessing the detailed step by step guide of how to embed images into a post will solve your troubles. Good luck.:thumbs up

Finally I too added puddle lamps to my sx4, I purchased the wire as well as I wanted a perfect connector fitment. The other end I attached to a two wire quick disconnect coupler so that if ever the trim has to be remove then the coupler can be disconnected. At the moment just the front two doors. Definitely adds a upmarket feel to the car.
