As i was again to bored today i decided to do the head lamp washer thing and so i started the project

the first step was going to the spare part shop and get what i wanted

the list of things i got

2 nozzles RS 30 (both)




then the T joints (rs5 each)



and then some pipes to make the connection((rs 30)

so all i have to spend is 70 bucks and i have headlamp washer

now the hard part
after getting all the stuff i had to make hole in my bumper i was scared if it doesn't fit and all i will have hole in my new bumper so i was little careful while making the holes

how to make holes in your new bumper?( if you don't have a drill machine)

take a screwdriver heat it put and then push it in the bumper where you want to make the hole

after you get a small hole in the bumper with a pair of scissors (from the pointed part) make the hole bigger ( be very care full)
right side hole

left side hole


what to do after you have made the holes on both side?

connect the pipe before putting the nozzle in the bumper and then pull the pipe up and with the T joint connect the both nozzle pipes from the left side and the right side


how to get water up to the nozzle?

now the cut the main pipe coming from the pup to the main nozzle and now stick the T joint where the cut was made to the main pipe


both T joints have a spot left now take a piece of pipe and connect the two T joints






its finish now
you only have to adjust the nozzle and you have headlamp washers at about only 70 bucks and 30 min of hard work:Cheering::)

Wow! Great job manikjeet! You got to be the Guru of DIY. I will try doing this on the Ford Ikon later in the week. But in this DIY, when you put the washer for the windshield, it comes for the headlamps too?

Great job Manikjeet. Can you do a muck test. just spray muddy water on the headlamp and then try using this nozzle to see if it does its job well? I am tied up with work hence couldn't get mine done yet.

ne question, well you pull the windshield wipers for water, does it come with the same pressure as before the headlamp project?

Never thought that this is possible.
Now I suppose that both windsheild washer and the head light washer will work together.
How about installing two mini wipers too?

My doubts:
There is just a little pump that pushes out water to the windscreen washers.
By increasing the travel length down to the headlamps, increasing the joints (with the T section) and adding 2 more outlets, you would definitely reduce the pressure of the water and increase the load of the pump.

I suspect that the pressure of the jets is reduced to half. (That is logical) also you have increased the load to the water pump.

Why don't you find out if you can fit a larger mini waterpump from another (larger)car.

i will do the muck test when abhi comes to my place to help adjust the nozzles

the pressure is the same for the windshield washer i see only a little bit difference but its not much

as for a bigger pump i am looking for it. i am just waiting for abhi to get free from his office

No probs. To adjust the nozzles just use a small needle and insert it in the hole of the nozzle and move it. And I agree with Sam, you need a bigger water pump.

i tired do it with the needle but i needed someone to put the thing so that the nozzles may work so me waiting for abhi for heping me out

and rite now i don't feel the need for a bigger pump but if when abhi comes and he feels that i need to change the pump i will change it

Really nice job! *clap, clap* It looks really simple, but I know you must have had a little trouble getting it all done. Hats off to your DIY spirit, and guts to punch a hole in your bumper, all by yourself [I couldn't :) ]

along with others question i was also wondering if the tubes you have used can withstand the heat of the engine. correct me if i'm wrong.... but those are tubes which are used in an aquarium. from experience i can assure you those tubes could melt under the extreme conditions under the hood. i hope/suggest you run them along the battery thru one corner of the hood and not across the engine bay.
