Electric supercar?

A battery- and solar-powered car due at this week's New York car show is said to rival Porsche and Ferrari for performance and, um, looks.

It's said to hit 320km/h and run on solar power together with pumped up versions of laptop computer batteries. The car is the Hybrid Technologies LiX-75 eco-sports car, and it's about to be unveiled at this week's New York International Auto Show carrying a pricetag that’s around $US125,000

isnt this something like what toyota is also doing, but atleast teh toyota product would be cheaper or around the same price and have that quality you want in a super car...

anyhow there is another one, being made in monaco and is sold for 300k euros and doesn 0-60 in 4 or under 4 sec..all electric..and was revealed last year, i think the first one sold was to roger moore, i saw it on fifth gear..

some eco friendly supercars for the future. what is the distance that these cars can run before they need rechargeing? wonder if any of them would find there way to indian shores.
the hybrid technologies lix-75 has close resemblence to the ferrari's and the lightning company's model looks like the tvr or the viper. both are very nice to look at. wonder if they handle that good too?

This might look and sound funny now, but the fact that they've achieved this performance with alternate energy bodes well for their practicality in production vehicles.
