Default Government increases allocation for EVs by 42% in Budget

Came across this article in ET; it doesn't have a lot of clarity in terms of if there are any changes in the eligibility criteria for this "support" and the quantum.

I hope this subsidy prompts mass manufacturers to roll out true EVs and hybrids.

Quote:
India increased state support to the production of electric and hybrid cars by 42% in the Budget
Quote:
The programme on Faster Adoption of Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles, which goes by the acronym FAME, got Rs 175 crore for FY-18 versus Rs 123 crore in FY-17. When the policy was announced in FY-15, the government had allocated Rs 75 crore: The support has been increasing to reflect growing industry interest.
A report in HT states that only Rs. 91 cr was used in FY17.

Quote:
Although the FAME subsidy is higher for electric cars, hybrid vehicles get the bigger share in practice
