This time around, the company has revealed the E - Tron GT, an all electric sports car, to rival the Tesla Model S.

Audi has revealed plans for a new all-electric four-door sports car, the e-tron GT, which is expected to rival the Tesla Model S when it launches in international markets early next decade.

The new model was confirmed during the company’s annual press conference as one of the 20 electrified models that will feature in its line-up by 2025.

Audi chairman Rupert Stadler said: “We interpret sportiness very progressively with our fully electric e-tron GT, and this is how we will take our high-performance brand Audi Sport into the future.”

Production of the e-tron GT, which Audi says will be ‘highly dynamic’, will take place at its Bollinger Hofe site in Neckarsulm, Germany.

2022 Audi e-Tron GT and RS e-tron GT unveiled globally.

The standard e-tron GT has two electric motors fore and aft that give out a total output of an astonishing 469hp and 630Nm of torque. The RS version churns out 590bhp and 830Nm of peak torque.

The Audi E-tron GT is slated to be launched in India towards late-2021, with prices likely to start around the Rs 1.6 crore (ex-showroom).

Audi A6 E-Tron concept revealed, it has about the same footprint as the A7 Sportback.



The concept is based on the Premium Platform Electric developed by Audi and Porsche. The A6 E-Tron will be powered by dual electric motors for a combined output of 470 hp and 800 Nm. A 0 to 62 mph run in less than four seconds.



The large 100-kWh battery pack is mounted between the axles for optimal weight distribution, and it supports fast-charging at up to 270 kW



With the battery full, the A6 E-Tron can cover more than 435 miles (700 kilometers) per WLTP.

2022 Audi e-tron GT or RS e-tron GT buyers in the U.S. will receive three years of free charging.

Audi has confirmed that customers will receive three years of complimentary DC fast charging through the Electrify America charging network. Electrify America chargers will allow e-tron GT and RS e-tron GT owners to make the most of the EV’s maximum 270 kW charging speed that can add roughly 180 miles (290 km) of range in just 22 minutes. There will be approximately 3,500 Electrify America charging stations across the United States by the end of 2021.
