For now, no technical details are known, but given its relationship to the electric XC40 it is not unreasonable to think that the same powertrain is offered, perhaps with more power and a balance with the more special design

interesting question revolves around its commercial name. It is true that SUVs are five-door models, but this one has a more particular design, a more inclined tailgate, which can lead to its own commercial name : recover the old letter "C" or cover the gap of the registered one, and never used, «XC50».

The new entry-level model of the Swedes is the first model to come all-electric.

The name of the new Volvo is C40. It will be a crossover SUV that looks a bit like the P1800 in its design and could become the modern version of the classic. This should come with a range of around 400 kilometres and get a whopping 400 hp.

it gets the same dual-motor AWD setup as the XC40 Recharge, offering a combined output of 402 horsepower (300 kilowatts) and 487 pound-feet (660 Newton-meters) of torque. The performance is identical, needing 4.7 seconds for the 0-60 mph run before topping out at 112 mph (180 km/h).

The 78-kWh battery pack with a usable 75-kWh capacity is rated at an estimated 210 miles (338 kilometers) of range per EPA and 261 miles (420 kilometers) according to the WLTP cycle.

it’ll take eight hours to charge it at 11 kW while fast-charging with 150 kW to 80 percent will take just 40 minutes. Volvo is already announcing future OTA updates for the C40 will enable improvements in terms of range.

I wonder why this fetish with seeking on line. Surely it is reasonable to accept that customers works like to test drive, may be more than once, examine and smell the car.

Nearly all specs are identical to the XC40. No range improvement, not acceleration improvement.https://https://insideevs.com/news/4...less-headroom/ Just a lot less headroom and trunk space.

All for a coupe roofline. Had it been lowered to actually be a coupe and not coupe-SUV, it might’ve had better range. But I guess SUV moniker sells well at global level too.

I don’t see why people would choose lower headroom and trunk space for aesthetics though, with everything else the same as the XC40, unless they price it lower.

Volvo will bring the new C40 Recharge to India as a follow up to the XC40 Recharge. This coupe-SUV will be launched in 2022
